Strasbourg: The Gateway to Baden-Baden’s Spas
Pampering
Being on the France-Germany border certainly has its advantages, especially when it comes to Strasbourg’s proximity to the German spa town of Baden-Baden. A short train ride from the Alsatian capital will take you to the healing mineral springs of the Black Forest, known for their healing properties since the Romans. Spend a day over the border, in the home of the day spa.

Morning
As Mark Twain once wrote “Here at the Friedrichsbad you lose track of time within ten minutes and track of the world within twenty.” Your day of complete body indulgence begins when you walk through the doors at the famous Friedrichsbad Spa in Baden-Baden, considered the temple of bathing. The stunning building with its massive central dome, mosaic-tiled walls, frescoes and ornate decorative elements has been offering a combination of Roman and Irish bathing traditions to those seeking pure pampering since 1877.
Your three-and-a-half-hour treatment is a journey through 16 different temperature levels, alternating pools and steam rooms in a bathing sequence to regenerate mind, body and soul. From the warm-air bath, to the thermal jacuzzi and the restorative rest room (where you’ll be wrapped up for half an hour), all soothe your senses during your stay. Feel the healing nature of the thermal waters as your relax and immerse yourself in Europe’s finest mineral springs. After three hours of immersing yourself in various pools and saunas, succumb to a half-hour activating soap and brush massage to remove dead skin cells and leave your body totally invigorated.
Afternoon
After your bathing, scrubbing and massage experience, it’s time for your face to get the royal treatment with an Ella Baché Hydra Repulp Treatment. This facial is perfect for removing signs of dehydration from your skin. The hour-long session is completed with the application of a cloud of replenishing water to ensure protection and long-lasting hydration.
