Châteaux, Helicopters and Wine

Pampering

Châteaux, Helicopters and Wine If you deserve to be treated like the lord or lady of the manor, a stay in a Loire Valley château will make you feel down right regal. Step back in time with a stay at one of the area’s finest, just outside the city of Tours.

Evening

Arrive at the 18th century Château du Plessis in time to check in and then take a leisurely walk (or ask the château owners to drive you) to the small village of Charentille for a traditional Loire dinner at Restaurant L’Esperance. The restaurant owners will welcome you personally and help you choose the finest local dishes to savor. Retire in your elegant room with antique furnishings, chandeliers and views over the château grounds.

Morning

Awake to fresh country air and a sumptuous French breakfast, served in the main hall of the château or in the Library. Treat yourself to delicious pastries and fresh fruit from the garden when in season. Walk out on to the extensive château lawns to board your personal helicopter for a flight over the vineyards and châteaux of the area, including Ménars, Chambord, Villesavin, La Sistière, Cheverny and Beauregard. Spend an hour or more flying high above the Loire Valley and land in time to enjoy lunch in the wine growing town of Vouvray.

Afternoon

Indulge in some of the Loire’s finest wines at Cave des Producteurs de Vouvray, a cooperative wine cellar that allows you to sample various vintages from 38 smaller wine producers of the Vouvray area in one place. This area is particularly well known for its Chenin Blanc and sparkling white wines, so be sure to take home some souvenirs.
