Brussels - A Veritable Feast of Gourmet Delights
Gourmet
Breakfast
After a morning arrival at Brussels’ Gare du Midi station, breakfast should be your first consideration, and a great one won’t be expensive here. The freshly baked breads, tasty organic produce and friendly communal tables make Le Pain Quotidien a great choice for a healthy and delectable breakfast. This is a Belgian business success story, with franchises now operating in more than ten countries. Brussels is Le Pain Quotidien’s home town with no fewer than ten bakeries. The outlet on Avenue Louise has a lovely garden terrace that is shady in the summer and covered on rainy days.
Lunch
One of Brussels' most beloved restaurants and gourmet attractions is the three-Michelin-star Comme Chez Soi. Join chefs Lionel Rigolet and Pierre Wynants on a journey to discover a contemporary edge to traditional Belgian fare. Their lunchtime four-course tasting menu is superb and incredibly good value for a restaurant of this caliber -- about half the price of its dinner equivalent. You can choose to sit in the stunning Art Nouveau design main dining room or take a seat at the kitchen table and watch the chefs in action in their state of the art modern kitchen.
Afternoon Snack
Just because you’ve filled up on a huge lunch, doesn’t mean that you can’t have an afternoon snack. There are literally dozens of chocolatiers in Brussels, creating some of the most exquisite chocolates in the world including master chocolate maker Pierre Marcolini. Try his tasty morsels like Balle de Golf Fondant (a perfect chocolate golf ball), Truffe Champagne (Champagne truffle) or the violet infused Violette (or try all three).
Dinner
A ten-minute taxi ride from central Brussels will take you to Bon-Bon Salon D’Artisan Cuisinier. Chef Christophe Hardiquest is considered a wunderkind of the Brussels restaurant scene -- preparing authentic 'atelier de cuisine.' With an open kitchen, you can watch your meal being cooked and the menu offers seasonal produce like Barents Sea King Crab, Truffle Ravioli and Veal Sweetbreads. A vast selection of French cheeses and dessert sampler plates round off a delicious meal.
