Bruges: Chocolate Nirvana for Your Body

Pampering

Bruges: Chocolate Nirvana for Your Body Whoever said that chocolate was not good for your skin couldn’t have been more wrong. Spend a day in Bruges, a Belgian chocolate haven, and discover how cocoa can soothe your skin and invigorate your body. “Choco-Therapy” is the name given to a range of chocolate treatments and there are several beauty centers in Bruges that can pamper you all day and cover you in chocolate from head to toe (tastings allowed). Cocoa contains natural anti-oxidants that can improve your mood and your blood circulation, while cocoa butter helps to nourish, soften and protect your skin.

Morning

Aphrodite was the goddess of love, beauty and fertility and after a day at Aphrodites in Assebroek, you may well feel like a goddess. Start with a warm cocoa butter and orange oil massage, followed by a Bernard Cassière chocolate face mask which is 64% pure cocoa. Next, your skin will be pampered with a rejuvenating serum of cocoa and vanilla. After smelling all that chocolate, you’ll get to try some freshly made chocolate dainties, accompanied by a cup of coffee or tea.

At Belle & Beau, in the Sint Andries area of Bruges, you can choose from a selection of individual chocolate infused treatments including a white or dark chocolate Bernard Cassière face mask, a chocolate mousse body or back pack and a cocoa butter with chocolate extracts massage.

Afternoon

If you would prefer to combine your chocolate treatments with bathing, it’s only a short taxi or bus ride to the Bruges suburb of Zedelgem where you will find Fam & Om. You can spend a whole day here indulging in treatments, relaxation therapy and fine food. Begin your day in the Turkish bath or sauna, followed by a swim in the pool and then enjoy a light lunch in the stylish restaurant on the premises. Enjoy an afternoon of pampering with a facial treatment, a body peeling and a 45-minute chocolate massage. End your day with a tasty chocolate dessert and a cup of coffee.

I am very interesting in booking this trip, but I am getting frustrated....are there any trains that go from Paris Nord to Brugge? For every day that I have looked at, and there were many, this connection does not exist.

Kelly, to take this trip you have to change trains in Brussels. That's what I did when I went from Paris to Bruges. It's pretty simple, just change platforms. Hope that helps!
